Ultimately, Voices of Hope aims to give voice to the friends and family of victims of sexual assault. We often hear the story of the victim, and while those stories are incredibly important and moving, the lingering effects of sexual assault stretch beyond the victim. By speaking up in support of those we love who have been touched by these terrible experiences, we hope to encourage further communication and education on the topic.

Voices of Hope was started in 2014 by Kristine Irwin. A survivor of her own assault, Kristine personally contacted her own family and friends to get their reactions, their thoughts, and their insights into her incredibly personal experience. Voices of Hope may currently be Kristine’s story told by those who know and love her, but we hope that it will begin to grow into a conversation on a much larger scale.
